Tension Erupts at AIIMS Bhubaneswar: Patient Dies, Angry Relatives Attack Doctor

Bhubaneswar, June 27: A doctor was allegedly assaulted at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, on Saturday after the death of a patient triggered unrest among his relatives, who accused the hospital of medical negligence.

The deceased has been identified as Shibashankar Behera, a resident of Ogalapada in the Janla area of Khordha district. According to hospital sources, Behera had been admitted to AIIMS three days ago in a critical condition after allegedly consuming poison.

He died during treatment on Saturday morning.
