Odisha Police SI Recruitment Exam 2026 to Be Completed by October, Says OUSSSC

Bhubaneswar, July 1: The Odisha Uniformed Service Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC) on Wednesday announced that the long-awaited Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment Examination 2026 will be completed by October this year, bringing relief to thousands of aspirants.

The recruitment process had been stalled after the examination scheduled in October 2025 was postponed following allegations of question paper leakage and other irregularities.

Fair and Transparent Recruitment Assured

OUSSSC Chairman Rashmi Ranjan Swain said the state government is committed to conducting a fair, transparent and error-free recruitment process.

He said extensive measures are being put in place to ensure that the examination is conducted without any irregularities.

Fresh Opportunity for Affected Candidates

Swain said candidates who were unable to appear for the examination due to the alleged question paper leak will be allowed to take the test.

He also clarified that applicants who have crossed the prescribed upper age limit during the delay will continue to remain eligible for the recruitment examination.

No Change in Syllabus or Exam Pattern

The OUSSSC Chairman said there will be no change in the examination pattern, syllabus or the number of eligible applicants.

Candidates can continue their preparation according to the existing syllabus and recruitment guidelines.

Revised Schedule to Be Released Soon

Officials of the OUSSSC said the revised examination schedule will be notified shortly.

Candidates have been advised to regularly check official announcements and continue their preparations as the recruitment process is expected to conclude by October 2026.
